Who we are

SOLID for Development and education, a registered non-profit company in Sudan, is dedicated to advancing development and education initiatives. Comprised of seasoned educators and social developers, SOLID leverages its extensive expertise to address critical educational and developmental needs within communities. By collaborating with local and international partners, SOLID aims to create sustainable solutions that enhance educational outcomes and foster social progress, ensuring a brighter future for Sudanese children and their communities. The organization has three primary objectives:

Our Team

SOLID was founded by a group of education consultants to lead in providing technical assistance for planning, designing and implementation of education projects in Sudan.

Akram is a diligent and resourceful professional with more than 18 years of diversified experience, in social inclusion, human capital development and protection of vulnerable groups. Akram had led several externally funded projects; in addition, he is an associate researcher with many research institutes at international, regional and national level.

As a Gender analyst, Akram had reviewed a large number of gender products and supported many implemented activities that address the different needs and roles of women in the various fields of intervention.

Aymen has more than 18 years of extensive experience working as team leader, project manager, and education specialist in Sudan. He directly managed education interventions such as school construction, school grant, sourcing and distributing learning and teaching supplies, and building the capacity of local staff.

For more than 10 years, he has been an active member of the Local Education Group that supported and advised Sudan Ministry of Education on the development of several education sector analyses, school data surveys, as well as policy documents.

Magdi has more than 23 years of experience in the general and higher education areas; education reform-policy development, institutions and programs development and governance, technical advising, sector data collection and analysis, sector-characteristics definition, curriculum development, teaching, research, coordination, consultation, and he has a successful stories and experience as team and group leader.

Hala has more than 25 years of experience in tertiary education, teacher training and teaching English as a Foreign Language, and systems reform. Hala has worked as an education consultant in several projects with UNICEF, UNEDO, SOFRICO, and Expertise France. Currently Hala works as Regional Team leader for a higher education with British Council.

Yasir has more than 15 years’ experience in the field of teacher education and curriculum reform. He also supervised projects aimed to improve retention capacity of Sudan education system through provision of supplies, improving school environment, and implementing proper surveys and data, as well as supporting the development of the capacity public. He managed several interventions that supported the refugee’s education in Sudan. Yasir’s academic background includes such interests as assessing literacy and numeracy specially in the early years of the primary system. Yasir worked for the British Council, UNICEF, and Expertise France.
